‘Amphitrite’ Ring

Platinum is combined with Tahitian pearls, white diamonds and blue sapphires to create a luxurious ring with a flowing organic shape, which elegantly cascades over the fingers.  The unusual shank bears a quintessentially sensual and distinctive signature: a secret touch which invites one to a private visual and tactile world of sensations. The innovative design is further enhanced by its asymmetry: two platinum lines, one set with diamonds, wind around a pearl on one side while delicate curvaceous platinum waves, some set with diamonds, voluptuously interweave small pearls on the other side.

The design interprets Leyla’s keen interest in ancient mythology and symbolism with a modern and striking twist. The piece is part of the collection named Okeanides after the feminine spirits who animated the waters in Greek mythology and were celebrated by the composer Jean Sibelius in his symphonic composition Aallottaret, “Spirit of the Waves” in Finnish.  he dreamlike fluidity of the piece with its contrasting drama conveys precious delicacy and strength into natural and supernatural forms, thereby empowering the wearer with a certain sense of style.

Leyla has been designing jewellery since 2008 having graduated with a degree in Jewellery Design from Central St. Martins.  She designs her own collections and works on private commissions in the UK and abroad.  Leyla’s background in fine art and inherent understanding of fashion come together with Western and Eastern influences to create striking designs, which are primarily conceptual and one of a kind.  She is passionate about her work and eager to take on new challenges to bring artistic expressions to life for many to enjoy.
